I've been using Contribute 1.0 to edit our website forever.
All of a sudden there are 3 or 4 pages out of the 500 page
population of our website that I can't edit. I can browse to the
page in contribute and it looks normal and complete. When I click
to edit it, the whole page shows blank white. What the heck is
going on??Help With Editing
When you browse the page with f.i. IE, is it still blank?
If it's still blank try checking the source code of the page
and see if there is any html left in the page.
If you don't understand the above, post the url to the
page(s) concerned and I'll check it for you.

Hi Julianna
can you try doing the following to test...
on the same page (problematic page)
1. click on New button%26gt; Copy of current page
2. type in the test title and publish the page
3. try editing the new page see if it works
I don't understand your message. I'm kind of a website
novice. Here's a link to one of the pages that I'm not able to
edit:
http://www.longmeadowranch.com/events/index.events.html
Thanks
I looked at the source-code of the page and your file has a
huge amount of whitespace in it in the javascript in the head of
the document and furthermore in the body. Maybe that's causing the
problems, because a lot of the other pages on your site don't have
that problem in the source-code, so this seems to be the difference
between the pages.
Solution: Get rid of the whitespace in some html editor and
try again.
When you want to clear the whitespace yourselve you can edit
the page through contribute in an external editor.
In the menu go to File, Actions, Edit in external application
en edit.
To add a program to your external editors in the menu choose
Edit, Preferences, File Editors and find Web Page Source in the
list.
Good luck.

Hi
just to see if the problem can be replicated on a new page
based on an existing one.
1. Within Contribute browse to that page that goes blank when
you try to edit it
2. Click on the New button
3. Select Copy of current page, type in the test title
4. Publish the page with a test file name
5. Try editing the test file see if the issue persists
I think your page bombs in Contribute because it has too many
syntax errors. Check it out with the W3C Validator at
validator.w3.org. Also that
extra period in the filename might create problems.
Validator W3C results:
