I have two issues with links I'd like help with.
1. I want a link in my site (that leads to a completely
different web site) to open up in a new tab (or a new window if
that's all I can do). I found something on Google that worked by
changing the behavior. Except when I did it, it opened the site in
a new window AND in my original window. I'm not sure what I'm doing
wrong.
2. On the same site, I have a link where I want to have it is
linked to a document (PDF, Excel, etc). I want it to launch the
application associated with the file type (i.e. link for a pdf
would launch Reader and the pdf file). When I test it - nothing
happens. I can right click and have it save the file associated
with the link, but not launch the application to use the document.
Suggestions and help is GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you.

Link Functionality
1. The easiest way to do this is to type the full URL in the
link box
(including
http://), then underneath it in ''target''
choose ''blank.''
2. If you link to a file that has a browser plug-in, such as
Acrobat Reader,
when someone clicks on it -- if they have the plug-in -- it
will open in it.
If they don't have the program, or it's a program that won't
work within a
browser, then it will prompt them to download it.

Are you testing it locally or remotely? If locally, it could
be blocked by your browser/OS.
