the long and winding road php and mysql

Hi



having spent hours trying to get php and mysql to work, with
davids

wonderful hints I have at last acheived a database
connection. The problem

as always was simple.



1. No matter what I did in the registry or any other file and
despite a

complete uninstal of PHP and reinstall my beloved PC decided
that the php

ini file was in c:\windows!



I changed the path in system and in the registry but it
insisted so in the

end I moved the ini file to c:\windows



The second problem I discovered by pure technical skill (ok
blind

desperation) was that the mysql copy of libmysql.dll was
newer than the one

in the php directory. I copied the newer version into the php
directory and

I now have a working system



Can't explain why I'll leave that to others but thats the
fix.
