Site check

Hi all!

This is v2.0 of my personal
website; I'm a
designer, and paid a freelance programmer a very nominal fee to put
it together. My
design
is/was very clean, but apparently once the complexities of browsers
and code in general came in it's far less so. Also, I have a wide
variety of content I'm trying to display, and the systems used to
present it aren't as unified as they could be. I guess I can chalk
this all up to my inexperience.

So, I'm here asking if ya'll have any advice on how to spruce
up/tighten the site a little bit, and any ideas for better
presenting its content. I'm basing it somewhat off this
site, which
is unbelievably well designed and coded. I'd like to have it at
that level as soon as realistically possible. If anyone has any
code or comments that might be useful to spruce the site up - ie,
if you were taking over the development/design of this site, what
would you change? I would very much appreciate of your collective
wisdom!

The site I loosely based mine off of =

These are linked to in my original post - sorry if there was
any problem with them!

Alec
Firstly I'd give the page a background color - at the moment,
I'm seeing my

browsers' default bg of hot pink :-)

I'm finding it a little 'bland', a bit more color on the page
would probably

lift the overall look of the page.

PS: What don't you like about it? The real question I
guess...
