strange dreamweaver behavior

dreamweaver 8 just started to act up on me. when i try to
load it via the program shortcut or the start menu (windows) it
tries to reinstall. to add a twist when i try to open a file (from
my windows explorer) and select open with dreamweaver it works as
well as ever (loads fine)strange dreamweaver behavior
I had the same problem with the Flash 8 icons.

Don't know why this happened but I just deleted, then
recreated the shortcuts. It was probably a Windows update, or when
I installed a newer browser version.strange dreamweaver behavior
that is exactly what i did. i deleted the desktop icon.
anyone from adobe have an answer for this?
If you want to communicate with Adobe, you'll have to contact
them directly.

This is a user-to-user forum. Their participation is
irregular and

unpredictable.

I will say that I don't recall seeing your symptoms ever
posted here

before....

did microsoft buy adobe? this is not the response that i
expected for my $900 program that went haywire:

''Forrest, please understand that this is not an issue that
can be solved

through the support portal. If you have a technical question,
you can

take advantage of our extensive self-help resources:''
what a bullsh t reply... and software companies wonder why
people feel justified in pirating their products.

You seem to look for reasons to pirate in quite a few of your
posts.

Hmmm....

not really. it just makes me crazy how disloyal software
companies can be to their customers... and crazier when i hear
about people nervously adhering to the letter (as opposed to the
spirit) of a completely one-sided license agreement.

it's like the airlines. sure, no one has a right to throttle
a gate agent because they got bumped off their flight, but the
airlines never seem to take any accountibility for the role they
play in making people nuts.

yeah, i would have to agree on the quality of that response.
there is one silver lining though, that kind of BS makes it really
easy to make clients happy!

this response was from the ticket that i opened.

you know whats funny, I program almost exclusively with open
source solutions. one of the project managers from Zend rewrote
some code for me sunday afternoon! pretty amazing that open source
service is better than expensive commercial software. what are they
thinking?
well, i felt bad for a moment there. after seeing them
suggest i figured it out myself i did not bother to read the print
at the bottom that gave a number for tech support (actually an old
one that was not in service, but told me about the new one).

after 54 minutes on hold i guess i dont have much to feel bad
about. man!!!
So - your problem has been solved?

no. it has not. I have figured out how to use it for the time
being

1.open my file explorer

2.find a html file

3.right click, and select open with dreamweaver.
