pdf page quality

I have loaded a pdf file to one of my web sites. When opened
on the web the quality of the print is very poor - hardly readable.
Is there anything that can be done to improve print quality? The
page may be viewed at
http://www.gardenstrusts.org.uk/essex/essexphotocomp07-2.pdf
. The original file had dimensions of 31cm x 21cm and file size of
1.24 megs

Thankspdf page quality
yes indeed, the text looks very blurry also when the view is
set to 100%, but it麓s obviously all one image, and I wonder
what JPG compression quality you decided on when exporting to PDF.

What software did you use for creating the document and
exporting to PDF ?pdf page quality
Most programs used to create PDFs have output settings that
can be adjusted. For example, InDesign or Quark, or even Word.

In what program was the document created?
The PDF contains nothing but a very poorly scanned image. I
can see no need

for the PDF ''wrapper'' if all you want to do is display a
scanned image. Just

re-scan it, save it as an 8-bit PNG, instead of a JPG and try
that.

Even better, do it the right way: Reconstruct the document as
an HTML doc.

Scanned images slapped on the web are really pretty dopey.

that's because you don't have any text in that file. What you
have is a

PICTURE of text. And if you're making the PDF to ''screen''
resolution, it

will resample all bitmaps to low quality for a smaller file
size.

Yes. Don't use a picture of text. Create the PDF from the
original

application so the text remains as text. It will also help
keep the filesize

down.
